Even as Yairipok police has notified that the body of one Md Sana (27) s/o Md Zahur of Phoudel Maning Leikai, Thoubal would be disposed off if no claim is made by 11 am of April 16, the JAC formed in connection with the killing of Md Sana has pledged not to claim the body unless the 'murderers' are booked.
Md Sana was found killed on April 12 around 8.30pm at Yairipok Khoirom.
Speaking to media persons at the Manipur Press Club, general secretary of JAC against the killing of Md Sana, SM Zallal lamented the culprits involved in the killing of Md Sana have not been book yet.
A public meeting was held on April 13 at Phouden Ediga Lampak wherein a few resolutions were adopted.
The JAC secretary said a memorandum was also submitted to the Chief Minister demanding the arrest of the culprits involved in the killing of Sana and bringing immediate justice on the matter.
The JAC memo categorically stated that the dead body of Md Sana, which has been lying at JNIMS Morgue, Porompat, would not be claimed until the culprits involved in the killing of Md Sana were booked.
He further warned that the JAC would intensify stir if the Government fails to bring justice into the matter immediately.
Meanwhile, a statement issued today by Yairipok PS said that the dead body of Sana, which is fast decomposing and likely to cause health hazards to the public, would be disposed off if no claim is made by 11am of April 16 .
Speaking at the press meet, one Md Amir Khan of Sora Awang Leikai, who went along with the deceased youth at Yairipok Khoirom on the fateful day said that he and his friend (Sana) went to Yairipok Khoirom meet a girl on the insistence of the girl.
The girl first handed them two bags containing her clothings.
When the girl came out from the gate, two ladies followed her.
Later, around seven/eight youths halted them and started assaulting them.
In the course, Amir Khan was escorted inside a house by a local.
Later he was informed that his friend had died.
On hearing the news he fainted, he said.
