Test rate dips, fatality count high as state crosses 60K mark
16 deaths, 459 new positive cases reported; recovery rate improves

After witnessing an improving test rate for over two weeks, the state is registering slight drop in the daily test rate with the figure remaining marginally above the 5000-mark in the last two days.
Monday reported 459 new cases out of 5257 samples tested in the last 24 hours taking the tally of infected people across the state to 60,000-mark.On the other hand, daily fatality rate remains high as Monday reported 16 death cases after which the official fatality count has reached 990.For the third consecutive day, daily recovery outnumbered daily new case as Monday saw discharge of 499 patients from different facilities.
The active caseload now stands at 8443 out of which 2969 are in home isolation and the remaining 5474 undergoing treatment in healthcare facilities including district hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the total active cases, 380 patients including some post Covid patients are on oxygen support and 28 are on ventilator support.
The figure, however, does not include the data of JNIMS and I-land hospitals.
The last seven days reported 4483 new cases and 94 fatalities while 9560 new cases and 183 fatalities were reported during the current month.

The state has recorded 32,123 positive cases and 635 fatalities since the beginning of the current year.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 16 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
District wise fatalities are Imphal West (4), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (3) .
Six patients died at JNIMS, five at Shija Hospitals, three at DH Churachandpur and two at RIMS.
Out of the 16 fatalities, seven were in the age group of 60 years.
An 18-year-old female from Imphal West district died within 24 hours of reaching JNIMS.
Nine did not have any co-morbid conditions.
Three patients died within 24 hours of arriving at hospitals and five within 48 hours.
According to official reports, the 459 new cases included 452 people (232 male & 220 female) from among the general population and seven personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .
Their samples were tested at RIMS (18), JNIMS (18), District Hospitals (288) and other testing centres (135).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (39), Imphal West (136), Thoubal (77), Bishnupur (78), Kakching (29), Ukhrul (26), Churachandpur (22), Chandel (10), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (10), Tengnoupal (7), Kangpokpi (7) and Pherzawl (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
Out of the 499 people discharged in the last 24 hours, 336 were in home isolation, 24 from RIMS, six from JNIMS and the rest 133 from other Covid care facilities.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 60,311 (general population - 56,534 and CAPF personnel - 3,777) .
Number of recovered cases is 50,878 (general population - 47,117 and CAPF personnel - 3,761) and number of active cases is 8,443 (general population - 8,432 and CAPF personnel - 11) .
The recovery rate is 84.36 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1451 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 413 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 333D and 64B filled cylinders while district/sub-division wise stock position is Bishnupur (51D,9B), Chandel (31D,7B), Churachandpur (51D,0B), Senapati (32D,0B), Thoubal (74D,19B), Ukhrul (17D,0B), Tamenglong (15D,5B), Jiribam (34D,2B), Moreh (5D,1B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (5D,0B), Kakching (7D,18B), Noney (2D,0B) and Pherzawl (6D,2B).As of Sunday, 4,67,403 individuals have been administered vaccines against Covid-19 and the figure includes 81,577 individuals who have got their second shot.
CCR report has informed air passengers, who travelled into the state on June 12 by Air India AI-889 in rows 16-22 to report to the Common Covid Control Room 1800345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
Meanwhile, 49 new positive cases were detected out of 232 samples tested in Kakching district on Monday.
Nine of them were detected at Jivan Hospital and 40 at government RAT Centre.
All are residents of Kakching district.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (21,385), Imphal East (13,817), Thoubal (4845), Churachandpur (4620), Kangpokpi (1558), Tamenglong (1932), Bishnupur (3524), Senapati (1323), Ukhrul (1234), Kakching (2712), Chandel (1045), Noney (537), Tengnoupal (604), Jiribam (652), Kamjong (428) and Pherzawl (95) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (368), Imphal East (262), Thoubal (95), Churachandpur (79), Kangpokpi (23), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (64), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (14), Kakching (48), Chandel (13), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts as the state health authority continues to decline intimations for district-specific case status.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 19,436 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,214 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,63,776 tests per million population against the national average of 2,72,550 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.64 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 5257 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 8.73 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.37 per cent.
