Slopeland Group of Institutions celebrates World Teachers' Day

Slopeland Group of Institutions, Khongjom which is comprised of Slopeland Public School, Slopeland B Ed College, Slopeland College of IT, Slopeland College of Management, celebrated World teachers' Day at the open amphitheatre of the institution today .
The celebration was attended by Forest and Environment, Horticulture and Soil Conservation Minister, Thounaojam Shyamkumar and Kakching MLA, Y Surchandra as chief guest and president respectively .
Speaking at the event, Principal, Nahakpam Babulin Singh spoke on the evolution of the institutions and added that students from Myanmar come to the institutions for study.
Surchandra urged all CSOs and students' organisation to refrain from including students while addressing a demand and added that students miss classes for almost 100 days which affects theri future .

Minister Th Shyamkumar urged all the students to be obedient and grateful of their teachers as they are the ones who will shape the future of the young minds .
He stressed on the importance of private schools in the State and added that it plays a vital role in enhancing the human resource development and added that many Government schools are degrading due to the lack of policy and proper system in many Government schools .
The State Government is trying to improve the weakness at present, he added .
Shyamkumar stated that a mass tree plantation drive will be taken up at every educational institutions and the required funds will be provided by the department concerned.
