Imphal, June 30 2013:
Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Bungpi, Sadar Hills East, and Manipur have informed that it will continue shutting down of all the schools under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC) of Kangpokpi which had begun from June 17 lest a positive response is met.
A statement of KSO appreciated SH-ADC for releasing teacher's salaries on June 18 following its demand.
However, the remaining demands are kept pending and so it is compelled to continue its demand regarding teachers posting, allotment and other issues as stated.
The sufficient numbers of teachers under SH-ADC must be shared equally to each and every school without any partiality.
Some schools are alloted about 17 teachers when others are alloted only three.
"We are against 1 teacher per 20 students or more ratio system which ignores the number of classes and subject streams wise", the statement maintained.
It demanded the authority concerned to provide one teacher for each class and subject streams wise like in private institution.
SH-ADC should provide at least seven teachers to each and every school, and should give assurance that it will not issue transfer orders once the session commences.
KSO also urged SH-ADC to arrange teachers' transfer orders considering the inconvenience of the teachers along with the total number of teachers available at the respective schools.
There should be post in and post out system in case of transfer as there are many cases of transfer without replacement, the statement added.
