4th IISFF 2016 to be held in March

Imphal, February 20 2016 :
Asharaf Shishir 's Gaariwala, a film that has won 24 International Awards will open the 4th Imphal International Short Film Festival 2016 (IISFF).
Telang-Gaa, a Manipuri film directed by filmmaker Babina Chabungbam will be screened at the closing day of the festival to be held from the second week of March this year.
Short filmmakers from the State have been invited to submit their works to be part of this festival, a statement informed.
The two-day long festival is being organised by Action for Social Advancement (ASA), Manipur and hosted by Legend Studio.
The Festival has premiered many award winning films as well as regional films and works of budding filmmakers.
IISFF annually attracts good number of audiences and guests from around the world, it stated.
Out of the total 200 entries, 100 films are selected for the best film competition.
40 films from the selected 100 will be chosen for screening at the festival.
Theme of this year festival is "Promoting the unheard voice".
Continuing its tradition of promoting regional cinemas, the festival will screen films made in Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Kashmiri, Nepali, Meeteilon, Haryanvi and Telegu.
Foreign countries participating in the festival are UK, USA, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Philippines, Japan, China, Iran, Bangladesh, Finland, Greece, Germany, Russia and Croatia.
2016's Best Short Film, Best Documentary and Best Animation, Special Mentions and Best Director will be selected during the festival.
