Imphal, August 08, 2012:
Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) has urged the Government authority to facilitate the early completion of various constructions in Tamenglong district including the District Secretariat which was inaugurated by the then Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram on November 3 last year.
A statement issued by the joint secretary of ZYF (AMN), David Kamei said that many shorfalls in the construction of various buildings in Tamenglong district were came across during an independent spot inspection conducted by a joint team of the ZYF (AMN) and ZYF Tamenglong Zone on Aug 1. The statement wondered how the newly constructed Secretariat in Tamenglong district remained incomplete even as secretariats in other districts started functioning.
The team had also inspected the construction of JNV at Duigailong and found that the makeshift shed/camp erected for the labourers was found overgrown by thick and bushy grasses.
The team also found that there has been no progress in the construction work of 100 bedded District Hospital.
Drawing the attention of the concerned authority, the ZYF statement urged the Government to award works to competent agencies and also to monitor the stage-wise progress of works.
