Assam Rifles has extended generous assistance to a 13 year old boy who sustained injuries in a shooting incident on December 11 last year at Pallel.
Edwin Marim sustained injuries in the shooting incident which took place at Beaulahram village near the premises of 26 Sector AR headquarters.
Since then, the boy has been undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
One aunt of the boy said that he can now move although he is still not fit enough to play with his peers.
Hqs 26 Sector AR paid the medical bill incurred by the boy at Shija Hospital.
Moreover, doctors were sent to examine the boy regularly.
Incidentally Edwin's father Jacob is a Havildar at 15 Assam Regiment.
He came home for medical treatment before his son sustained injuries in the particular incident.
Hqs 26 Sector AR repaired the kitchen of Havildar Jacob's house apart from providing assistance in putting up fences around his household plot.
Jacob is currently undergoing treatment at Kolkata and the Assam Rifles provided help in his treatment too.
While acknowledging the generous help provided by Assam Rifles, the aunt said that she was worried about the boy's future.
She expressed keen desire for all central security forces to wear uniforms while on duty.
She further conveyed her desire to shift Edwin to an Assam Rifles school from St Paul High School, Komla-thabi where he is reading in class VI .
Notably the shooting was carried out by two/three unknown persons who wore plain clothes.
But the local villagers expressed strong suspicion that the shooters were surrendered militants who were staying at the AR camp.
