Lamka, September 24 2012:
Thousands of students under the aegis of joint student organizations and the JAC constituted following the murder of S Nabil village chief today held a rally demanding action against the alleged murderers and impounding all properties belonging to the alleged kingpin in the murder.
The rallyists torched three effigies, reportedly of the three accused before taking to the streets and concluding it at the Deputy Commissioner's office.
A copy of the memorandum that was addressed to the Prime Minister's Office was given to the Deputy Commissioner.
The JAC organised the rally along with the KSO, ZSF, GSO, HSA and the CDSU.
In their memo to the PMO, the JAC has cited how they have called-off an indefinite strike imposed after the murder, and the assurance they received from the Chief Minster as well as the Home Minister before claiming the dead body which otherwise was left unclaimed in the mortuary to pressure the government of booking the culprits.
They have also alleged that the alleged kingpin was also coercively manipulating the chief-ship of at least three other villages besides S Nabil.
Immediate arrest of the three murder accused, protection for key eye witnesses and the bereaved family, and impounding of all properties belonging to the kingpin of the crime besides constant monitoring of his personal and relatives bank accounts are the demands the JAC has put forth before the PMO.
