Poll parties skip meet

Imphal, September 24 2012:
Apart from Congress party, no other political parties attended the meeting convened today by the Chief Electoral Officer Manipur on electoral reforms and rationalization of polling stations.
A reliable source informed that the CEO, acting on an instruction of the Election Commission of India, convened an all-party meeting at Old Secretariat at 3 pm today.
When invitations were sent for the meeting, it was signed and confirmed that the invitations have been received.
It is not known as to why the political parties skipped today's meeting.
Nevertheless, the CEO held the meeting with Congress representatives, and as per the ECI's instruction, sought cooperation of political parties towards electoral roll revision and rationalization.
It is reported that a new date would be fixed for another all-party meeting.
