Free medical camp conducted at Chakpikarong, Khoijuman Kwasiphai

Block Programme Management Unit (BPMU), Chakpikarong in association with District Programme Management Unit (DPMU), Chandel has organized a one-day free medical camp for pregnant women under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matrivat Abhiyan (PMSMA) programme at CHC Chakpikarong, Chandel district today.
The camp held under the supervision of Deputy Director, Public Health Dept, GoM and State Nodal Officer, NHRM Dr Meena Seram and CMO Chandel Dr Sherthai Sherbrun was attended by three specialist doctors of State Health Services namely, Dr Bilashini Tayenjam (OBGY); Dr James Elangbam (OBGY) and Radiologist Dr Ruhi Gupta and administered their services to the pregnant women.
Regarding the camp, Deputy Director and State Nodal Officer Dr Meena Seram said that the camp was held at CHC Chakpikarong on 9th of every month under PMSMA with the objective to keep the pregnant women healthy so that the maternal mortality and infant mortality rate could be reduced to big extent.
She said that quality check-up were provided to the expected mother during the camp including the administering of nutritional foods, proper rest, registration of the expectant mothers by the ASHA facilitators, early detection of any ailments like diabetes, hypertension, test for albumin, sugar test, blood test, ultrasound examination to avoid any complication in delivery and referring them to hospitals if CHC is not in a position to provide better facilities and treatment.
She continued that the camp was the 5th one in the said CHC after it was conducted at Moreh, Mao, Tamei and District Hospital Jiribam and added the camp is important for many expectant mothers of Chakpikarong where they cannot get the services of specialist doctors specially at Health Centre situated at remote areas.
More than 132 pregnant women were provided free medical services in the camp including ultrasound examination, diagnostics and laboratory test and free medicines.
BISHNUPUR: COB Ningthoukhong 5/11 GR (BOGRA) in association with Khoijuman Gram Panchayat have conducted a free medical camp at Khoijuman Primary Health Sub-centre in Khoijuman Kwasiphai GP, Bishnupur District.
Regarding the camp, one of the ward member of the GP said that the free medical camp was conducted to lessen the prevalence of seasonal diseases in the area which the GP has been continously doing in the past many years while expressing gratitude to army doctors and personnel for organizing such medical camp for the villagers.
More than 200 villagers were screened and checked by the army doctors during the camp with the help of Pharmacists and staff.
