Kuki Inpi, Manipur (KIM) and All Manipur Senior Citizens� Welfare Association (AMSCWA) have strongly condemned the brutal killing as of three Kuki students by a squad of State police commandos at KR Lane on October 25.In a statement, KIM general secretary Jangmang Haokip said it was unfortunate that people who are supposed to be protectors of the civilians acted in a heartless manner, that too, right in the heat of the capital.
If such action is possible here, the cases in remote area is quite predictable.
The apex body of the Kuki community said that it would stand on the side of KSO till the authority come forward and problem amicably.
AMSCWA organized a condemnation cum condolence meeting on October 27 at the Khurai Ahongei residence of its president BM Mukherjee.
The meeting denounced the action of the security personnel as barbaric and inhuman and described it as violation of human rights to live, freedom of speech and free movement.
To ensure such incident do not occur in future, the meeting also demanded giving exemplary punishment to the guilty personnel.
Condemning the triple killing, Joint Tribal Students� Union of DM College said the act of the security personnel was barbaric and demanded punishment of the guilty personnel according to the law of the land.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Muslim Students� Organization, All Manipur Tribals� Amateur Muay Thai Association, Aimol Students� Union, Manipur (ASUM), All Manipur Nupi Marup have also strongly condemned the killing.
Describing the killing of three innocent students by Imphal East Police Commandos on October 25 as irresponsible and barbaric, Kuki Movement For Human Rights has appealed to the Govt to punish the guilty personnel immediately.
It also expressed its support to the KSO's demand for immediate dismissal of the guilty personnel, payment of Rs 10 lakhs each to the victim's family members and performing the Kuki Traditional rites so that the dead bodies could be buried.
All Students Guardians Association (ASGA) Manipur has also strongly condemned the inhuman killing in the strongest terms.
Stating that security forces which have been deployed in the State for protecting the citizens are unleashing a reign of terror in the State by committing all sorts of atrocities, it urged the higher ranks of the police Department to rein in the police personnel before another killing take place.
