Imphal, June 08:
During an inspection of the Wangoi CHC by the local MLA Salam Joy today, it was found that some of the staff did not sign in the attendance register since June 1 signifying their absence from the office for the same period.
However, MO in-charge of the CHC Dr L Iboton maintained that all these staff members came to office every day even though they did not sign in the register.
The staff members could not sign in the attendance register as they have duties both in day and night shifts, he explained.
Even as the MO claimed that the CHC has no shortage of plasters, bandages, spirit, cotton etc, some of the staff contradicted his claim and drew attention of the local MLA.
With no gynaecologist in the CHC, the existing doctors and staff have been doing the duties of a gynaecologist.
Moreover, the X-Ray machine has also been lying idle as there is no technician.
The CHC has no radiologist, paediatrician and ENT doctors, they informed.
At present, the CHC has one dentist, one AYUSH physician, four medicine doctors and one surgeon.
At least 50 patients come for examination and treatment at the CHC having 30 beds every day.
During his tour today, MLA Salam Joy distributed solar lamps for installation at public places like mosques and Lai Haraoba venues within Wangoi A/C.
