State RJD piles on the pressure

In pursuance of the demand to induct one of its MLAs in the Ministry expansion of the Congress-led SPF Government in the State, State RJD Unit has decided to take up the matter for discussion in the National executive meeting of the party scheduled to be held at New Delhi on June 10.An executive meeting of the State RJD Unit was held here today to decide who should be going to attend the National executive meeting to be presided over by party's National president and Union Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and what are the issues to be taken up for discussion during the meeting from the side of the State unit.
Subsequently, the executive meeting of the State unit held at its Babupara party office with vice president and former Minister W Thoiba in the chair has given permission to four members to attend the National executive meeting.
They are leader of the Legislature Wing of the party Md Hellauddin, MLA Thangkholun Haokip, former Minister and secretary general of the State unit S Natum and general secretary (administration) of the party N Ibohal.
All four of them are expected to leave Imphal for the National capital tomorrow.
According to party sources, the four delegates would be taking up the demand of the State RJD unit for inducting one of its MLAs in the expansion of the Council of Ministers of the Congress-led SPF Government for serious discussion once again at the national executive meeting of the party so that Central leaders of the party may take up the issue as their responsibility.
Other issues to be taken up at the National executive meeting from the sided of the State RJD unit include protection of the territorial integrity of Manipur, repealing of the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act, opening up of the administrative unit of the Railways at Imphal and Railways ticketting counters at every district headquarters of the State, to facilitate recruitment rally in Railways at Imphal, improvement of the Public Distribution System along with setting up of FCI godowns at every districts and implementation of special development programmes for the Minorities and SC/ST communities in Manipur.
