Entrepreneurship answer to unemployment issue : Radheshyam

Conceding that providing employment opportunities to the unemployed youth is one of the biggest tasks, Education Minister Th Radheshyam asserted that entrepreneurship is the answer to the issue of unemployment .
He was speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of 2nd Batch Courses in Capacity Building for NE Region sponsored by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal .
The Minister observed that to become an entrepreneur, one has to be innovative by remaining efficient and getting prepared for future .
He mentioned that fund is available for startups initiatives , however, young professionals need to be trained to avail such financial assistance through proper supervision and counselling of the experts .
He said that expectations and concerns of the trainees should be prioritised and tried to be solved during the training.
Imparting education or training to the youth should be done according to the demand and supply of the markets, the Minister said .
He said that if the trainees are trained as per the markets' demand then those qualified and skilled professionals can avail job through placement or become successful entrepreneurs .
He said that proper counselling about the courses is a must to guide the students on the right path for better opportunity in their life .
Exhorting the students to keep themselves uptodate to utilise the best of the training received, Minister Radheshyam also observed that the syllabus need to be upgraded to become constructive to meet the future expectations .
He said that skilled professionals need to think beyond employment or job placement .
They should dream to become a successful entrepreneur and contribute towards growth of the State, the Minister added .
Executive Director, NIELIT Imphal, Th Prameshwor who was present at the inaugural function announced that an LED Assembly Unit will be set up at Churachandpur and Senapati Centres of NIELIT on Public-Private Partnership mode.
He informed that out of the 90 trainees of the first batch, 18 have got jobs while 11 have set up their own firms .
He highlighted the need to provide funding and necessary materials to the youth of the State who are blessed with distinctive skills .
He also informed that the training courses will begin at Churachandpur from next week .
Taking part in the function, Director, Science & Technology, E Ibomcha Singh said that the Government cannot provide jobs to all the educated unemployed youth but technology holds the key to the problem of unemployment through self employment .
The training courses include Solar PV installer, Suryamitra, the Das Set Top Box installer and Services Technician and LED Light Repair Technician on two months duration with a total intake capacity of 90 students .
Teachers, instructors, staff and students of the institute also attended the inaugural function.
