Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul district, N Ashok Kumar inaugurated a community hall at Razai Kn Village under Chingai sub-division yesterday.
Razai village, 69 km away from the district headquarters is blessed with the village community hall for the first time longing for many decades.
The hall constructed under Border Areas Development Programme (BADP) 2008-09 at the cost of 4 lakh.
The construction was started last year and finally completed a couple of weeks back.
N Ashok Kumar as chief guest of the function expressed gratification for the early completion of the community hall with the sincere initiative of the villagers which today stands in reality.
Assuring the villagers to provide NREGS additional funds for the current fiscal year to this village, he said construction of school building will be started at the earliest which had been blown away by the strong wind recently.
He also said that construction of playground and village authority court will be started when the fund from MSOP, BRGF are available.
He also asked the village authority of Razai to implement the midday meal properly in accordance with the norms and guidelines laid down and to give cooperation on various development programme so as to successfully and equally benefited by the rural people of the areas.
President Yang Raphei Council (YRC) Tuithing Zingkhai, said that it is the first time in the history of Razai villages that the DC of Ukhrul visited in this remote village though it is situated near the National Highway 150.Later the Deputy Commissioner also visited Ngahui and Lunghar villages and inspected the implementation of NREGS in these two villages.
