Complaint lodged against 'local' Presiding Officer

A complaint has been reportedly filed to the Election Commission of India against deputing a local as the presiding Officer of a polling station under Keirao Assembly Constituency.
Speaking to newspersons at the Babupara quarter of Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) Minister Md Allauddin Khan, election agent of the Indian National Congress candidate Wahidur Rahman contended that one W Mera s/o W Chaoba of Kiyamgei Mayai Leikai was found conducting the election as Presiding Officer of 6/3 polling station set up at the south wing block of Ideal High School located at Kiyamgei Mayai Leikai.
Informing that officials of Election department, on being queried, responded that assigning locals for any official election-related duty in the his/her same locality is a violation of prescribed guidelines, Wahidur said a formal complaint has subsequently been filed to the election Commission of India.
He also claimed that no INC representatives were allowed to work as election agents in atleast five polling booths (6/1 to 6/5) and were found replaced by of MSCP royalists in the said booths.
Wahidur also dismissed as false and fabricated the allegation that a younger brother of Minister Allauddin Khan opened fired as the Kiyamgei Muslim Mayai Leikai residence of Adresh Ali, for the latter allegedly hoisting flag of MSCP.
