Fall out of Utlou incident of March 22 ; Ban on KAI, Ningthibi and MBS farm

Joint Students' Coordination Committee (JSCC) and various women organizations have imposed a ban on KAI and Ningthibi thus preventing them from organizing any kind of public events.
The CSOs have also imposed a total ban against holding or organising any kind of events at MBS farm, Utlou.
Speaking to media persons at AMSU HQ today afternoon, Ngariyanbam Milan (convener of JSCC) said that the event, which was held in the name of Holi on March 22 at Utlou Awang Leikai Kelimakhong, was totally against the culture of the people.
He continued that to find out the actual facts of the event, numerous student bodies comprising of AMSU, MSF, SUK and KSA, along women organizations of the State which included Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, Kangleipak Lamjing Apunba Meira Paibi, Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup and Chingtam United Women Association, went to the locality the next day (March 23) to collect information and also held a meeting with the stakeholders, witnesses, local club members and local Meira Paibis.
After meeting consecutively for two days, the team was able to collect a proper report regarding how the event was against the society of Manipur and how much it will affect the future generations, he added.
Milan informed that after the report was collected, they held a meeting with the Imas of different organizations for bringing an amicable solution and to prevent any such kind of incidents in the future.
He then claimed that they also held a meeting with the event organizer, KAI and Ningthibi, on March 26 and during their meeting it came to light that the idea behind holding such an event is to attempt to besmirch Yaoshang festival by providing liquor to the people who come to participate in the event.
Yesterday, the event organizer, Ngairangbam Silvia of KAI and Ngairangbam Bimolata, also tendered apology for holding such event, he added.
Announcing that KAI and Ningthibi will be banned from holding any kind of social events in the future, Lenin said that regarding the Utlou incident the CSOs have also got information that some well known personalities of the State were among those who took part in the event.
He then asked them along other participants of the event, regardless of gender, to come for a talk within three days time and warned that if any of the individuals fail to do so, those people will have to take responsibility for any outcome in the future.
On the other hand, Ima Memchoubi, president of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, came out strongly against the State Government for failing to take any action against those who organized the event which is against the society and instead arrested the local youth and Meira Paibisa, on false charges.
She questioned why the police have failed to take any action against the organizers who were caught along with a huge quantity of foreign liquor and beer when the election code of conduct is in effect.
She further stated that MBS farm house, owned by Mayengbam Thasana located at Utlou Awang Leikai Kelimakhong and which hosted the event is banned from organizing any such kind of event in the future.
