Imphal, July 19 2021:
The COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi has appealed to the authority concerned not to suggest Covid patients from the locality (Pourabi) to undergo home isolation without consulting the task force and examining their home setting.
In a statement, the task force said that majority of people in Pourabi are daily wagers and the locality has no more than 18 storey buildings.
Saying that home isolation is a major factor of increased positivity cases in the State as only a handful of houses in any locality have facilities such as separate kitchen and bathroom, the task force further appealed to the State Government and authority concerned not to encourage home isolation for Covid cases.
Allow only those who have amenities fit for home isolation to isolate at home after proper examination, it suggested.
Continuing that the rate of Covid positive cases at Pourabi is surging rapidly, the statement maintained that Pourabi will see more Covid victims if the authorities allow Covid patients to undergo home isolation without examining their homes.
The task force also appealed to all concerned to help in making Phourabi a Covid free zone, but refrain from mixing relief works with politics.
