Jayantakumar dedicates Bendramai PHC to villagers

Imphal, January 13 2018:
Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh inaugurated Bendramai Primary Health Centre yesterday.
The PHC is located at a distance about 60 km from Tadubi, Senapati district.
The Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of Chakha Primary Health Sub-Centre bordering Nagaland.
Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural cum foundation stone laying function, Jayantakumar said that the Bendramai PHC is now belonged to the villagers residing in and around the village.
He also assured to provide the required infrastructures in order to make the health centre operational on a 24/7 basis.
In this regard, he sought cooperation from the villagers.
He informed that a scheme for free treatment and necessary laboratory tests for BPL patient will be officially launched by the Government on January 21.Cards will be distributed to the eligible beneficiaries of the scheme.
New and sophisticated ambulance will also be distributed to the hill districts on the occasion, he added.
Presiding over the function, Tribal Affairs and Hills & Fisheries Minister N Kayisii said that the doctors and staff of the PHC need to work with dedication to garner cooperation from the villagers.
They should not feel insecure in serving the people at the PHC.
Rather they must feel proud to serve the people in the remotest places, he added.
Gracing the function as guest of honour, Director, Health Services & SMD/ (NHM), Manipur Dr K Rajo Singh appealed to the people of the place to cooperate with the Government in such initiatives.
He also said that it is the responsibility of the villagers to take care of the newly inaugurated PHC.
Upon reaching Bendramai, the Ministerial team was accorded a warm welcome by the villagers by singing and presenting traditional gifts.
Walking sticks and wheel chairs were distributed to the needy villagers during the function which was also attended by Athem Muivah, Deputy Commissioner Senapati; Dr Ranjit Singh, Additional Director, Health Services; NHM officials, CMO Senapati among others.
