Gaingakham inaugurates public hydrant

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today inaugurated a public hydrant at Langol Tarung.
PHE Minister Manga Vaiphei and MPCC secretary Jotin Waikhom also attended the inauguration function.
Gaikhangam said that providing adequate drinking water to the people is also one of the most important conponents of making Imphal a smart city.
Saying that the State Government has been taking up development works both in the hill and valley, Gaikhangam said that it is unfortunate to propagate that the Government had neglected hill areas.
He said that every hill district would have separate mini secretariat and mini stadia.
T Manga Vaiphei said that PHED has been putting in effort to bring water from Thoubal dam to provide drinking water to different localities of Imphal.
Moreover, Kangchup water supply scheme would also be expanded soon, he said and added that once these two projects are commissioned, there would be no scarcity of water in Imphal and adjoining areas.
Saying that the Government is planning to replace the old water supply pipes with new pipes, Manga Vaiphei said that two new public hydrants would be installed at Ruigailong village soon.
