UPPK dissolved

The United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), also known as PREPAK-UPPK and its armed wing Kangleipak People's Army (KPA) have been completely dissolved with effect from today.
UPPK was set up on November 6, 2008 by a split away faction of PREPAK and it was known as PREPAK (Shanti) at the initial days of its establishment.
UPPK joined the CorCom in 2011 .
Although UPPK was set up with the primary objectives of restoring the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak and establishment of an egalitarian society, it signed an MoU with the Government of India and the Government of Manipur on May 24, 2013 .
Since then UPPK cadres have been strictly adhering to the cease fire ground rules without any stray incident, conveyed a press release.
The press release is jointly signed by its chairman A Bonbihari alias Laanngamba Luwang, general secretary N Shanti Meitei alias Chinglemba Mangang, home secretary H Ahead Singh alias Lemba, finance secretary L Inaocha Singh alias Birjit, defence secretary cum chief of army staff M Maichon Meitei alias Konthou, information and publicity secretary L Achouba alias Khuman Laishramcha, deputy finance secretary cum deputy external affairs secretary H Angamba Meetei alias Poirei and deputy organisation secretary L Binoy alias Laakpa.
