Commerce and Industries Minister opined that agitating groups should enter into talks with the Government to restore peace for tranquility in the State.
Speaking as the chief guest as part of the month long observance of Jananeta Hijam Irabot's birth/death anniversary the Minister highlighted that pioneer Hijam Irabot sacrificed his life to ensure well being of the people of Manipur with special emphasis on peaceful negotiation to solve any social problem.
Jananeta Irabot desired that people of Manipur bask in glorious self sufficiently and solution of all problems in a peaceful manner irrespective of differences in religious belief in ideologies of respective community which could not be accomplished in the absence of work culture, Mangi noted.
The anniversary observation was held with Krishak Sabha member Kh Tomal Singh and MLA M Nabadwip Singh as the president and guest of honour respectively.
A march past competition of educational institutions and categorized into senior and junior divisions besides participation by various local organizations were also held in connection with the observance.
In the senior section Rural Education Centre, Kha Potsangbam bagged the first prize, while the top honour in junior division going to Terakhong Maning Primary School.
Among the organizations, AISF, Terakhong unit claimed the first position.
