Governor of Manipur KK Paul, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshor Singh, National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO), Imphal, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) have extended their heartiest greetings to the people of the State, especially Christians, on the occasion of Christmas and new year.
Governor KK Paul expressed his hope that with the celebration of the brith of Christ, people will remember the priciples of peace and harmony.
Chief Minister O Ibobi has also extended heartiest greetings on the occasion of Christmas to the people of the State.
The CM said Christmas is a time for recommittment of our lives to the finest ideals we can possibly envision and be reminded of a profound message of love, peace and unity preached by Jesus Christ.
Speaker Th Lokeshwar, in a statement issued here today, wished for a peaceful celebration and a new year filled with love, prosperity and tranquillity to the people.
NIPCO, extending its warmest wishes has wished for a peaceful co-existence this Christmas and new year.
CADA has wished for a violence free, peaceful and prosperous living this festive occasion.
Stating that the Holy books of every religion do not command a devotee to indulge in any kind of intoxicants, CADA has also appealed to the people to stay away from drugs and other intoxicants.
Dr Chaltonlien Amo, Chairman, Hills Areas Committee, Manipur Legislative Assembly, Manipur State Council Communist Party of India, Ethno Heritage Council, United Committee of Manipur (UCM) have also wished the people of the State on the occasion of Christmas.
