Additional Director of the Laboratory Dr S Joychandra filed an application to this effect before the probe panel headed by retired Judge C Upendra today, informed a reliable source.
The ballistic experts, who visited the crime scene on April 4, 2005 have to report on the position and the distance of the shooting before the Commission.
The application submitted to the Commission said re-construction process on the matter is underway.
However, due to limited time and manpower coupled with the current law and order situation, the examination of the same is yet to be completed.
Hence, Dr Joychandra requested the Commission to fix another suitable date, at least after two weeks, from today for submission of the report, the source said.
Having perused the application, the Commission has fixed April 30 as the date for submission of the ballistic report and May 7 for examining two ballistic experts of the same laboratory.
After examining the experts, the Commission would fix the date for hearing the final arguments of the inquiry, the source said.
However, it is learnt that the probe panel would submit its findings to the Government by May 25.
