All party delegation leaves for Delhi

Imphal, June 03 2016 :
An all-party delegation led by Chief Minister O Ibobi today left Imphal for New Delhi to urge the Government of India to give assent to the three Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last year.
Earlier, the all-party delegation planned to go to New Delhi only after getting an appointment with the Prime Minister.
Although no appointment with the Prime Minister has been obtained yet, many members of the delegation left for Delhi today.
They included Chief Minister O Ibobi, MLA Landhoni, MPCC president TN Haokip, MPCC secretary K Ranjit, MPP president N Sovakiran, LJP MLA K Shyam, BJP spokesman RK Shivchandra and BJP general secretary L Basanta.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Bhaba-nanda, MLA Th Bishwajit and Prof Tiken will leave Imphal for Delhi tomorrow morning.
Dr M Nara of CPI and MLA Th Shyamkumar of Trinamool Congress are already at Delhi.
They would seek an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the next couple of days.
Since the past one week or so, the State Government has been seeking an appointment with the Prime Minister for the all party delegation.
