Bodies demand release of KSA members

Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) and
seven other civil society organisations have jointly demanded the
withdrawal of complaint filed against the five arrested KSA vol-
unteers and their release from judicial custody by June 9.IPAK
chairman Sapamcha Jadumani, in press meet at IPSA office today
said five volunteers of KSA were arrested by the police on May 27
acting on a complaint by the two non-locals that were pulled up by
KSA for food adulteration.
Condemning the arrest of the KSA
volunteers, the chairman said shopkeepers Rajesh Kumar Yadav
and Dasarat Prasad should withdraw their complaint against the
volunteers and the police must release them by June 9 failing of
which civil bodies will jointly launch different forms of agitation,
he stated.
CILKA, KIL, Kanglamei, IPAK, ACOAM Lup,
Pandam and IPSA who attended today's press meet said they will
support KSA's proposed economic blockade of the Imphal-
Jiribam highway in case the volunteers are not released.
