Covid claims three more, 329 more test positive

Imphal, January 30 2022:
The State's Covid-19 death toll has spiked to 2041 after three more succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the victims hailed from Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur.
All of them had co-morbidities.
While two of them have had second dose of Covid vaccine, the other had taken the first dose of the vaccine.
In the meantime, 329 people including nine CAPF personnel were tested positive for Covid-19 at RIMS (10), JNIMS (35) and other testing centres (284) which puts the daily positivity rate at 16.4 per cent.
Kangpokpi logged the highest daily positivity rate at 30.3 per cent followed by Imphal East 21.7 per cent, Thoubal 21.6 per cent, Ukhrul 18.9 per cent and Imphal West 18 per cent.
The 320 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (65), Imphal West (146), Thoubal (21), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (10), Kamjong (1), Kangpokpi (10), Ukhrul (5), Tamenglong (8), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (2), Noney (1), Senapati (7), Chandel (8) and Churachandpur (18) .
On the other hand, 284 positive people were discharged following recovery during the last 24 hours from home isolation (182), RIMS (8), JNIMS (17) and CCCs (77) .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,32,910 (general population 1,27,952 and Central security personnel 4,958) .
This figure includes 3976 active cases (general population 3776 and Central security personnel 200) and 1,26,893 recovered cases (general population 1,22,142 and Central security personnel 4,751) .
The recovery rate as on Sunday is 95.47 per cent.
A total of 246 D-Type Oxygen cylinders and 96 B-Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
Out of 300 and 190 Covid beds of JNIMS and RIMS respectively, 277 and 156 are currently vacant.
Taking into account 11,187 doses administered yesterday, the total number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has climbed to 24,91,856 (first dose 14,20,181, second dose 10,44,845 and precautionary dose 26,830) .
Till Saturday, 44.63 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given the second dose of Covid vaccine while 58.47 per cent has received the first dose.
