COVID-19: State logs 70 cases, 2 deaths

Imphal, October 26 2021:
The State logged 70 new Covid cases and 2 deaths in the last 24 hours.
With this figure, the cumulative number of Covid cases and deaths have risen to 1,23,403 and 1915 respectively, as per an update from the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The Covid positivity rate registered on Tuesday was 3.3 percent as 70 out of 2129 samples tested positive in the last 24 hours.
None of the districts reported the positivity rate in double digit with Chandel reporting the highest of 7.4 percent as 4 from among the 54 samples tested positive.
The 70 new Covid cases which include 36 female were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and testing centres (64) and are from Imphal East (20), Imphal West (34), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (5), Chandel (4), Churachandpur (2) and Tamenglong (1) .
The 2 Covid deaths, on the other hand, are from Bishnupur and Kangpokpi and none of the deceased were vaccinated.
Today, as 84 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (11), RIMS (4), JNIMS (17) and CCCs (49), the active cases have reduced to 873 as compared to 886 on Monday.
The recovery rate is 97.74 percent.
Yesterday, 705 D type and 89 B type oxygen cylinders were distributed to different health care facilities cand on the same day 15381 Covid vaccine doses were administered.
As on October 25, the Covid vaccination rate was still highest at Jiribam with the district vaccinating 101.7 percent of its adult population with the 1st dose and another 55.98 with the second.
At the bottom of the chart is Senapati as the district administered Covid vaccine to only 18 percent of its eligible population with the 1st dose and 10.56 percent with the second.
Overall, the State has vaccinated 64.16 percent of its eligible population with the 1st dose while 33.44 percent are fully vaccinated, according to the Government bulletin.
