13 test positive, 17 discharged

Out of 1,088 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, 13 were confirmed positive while 22 Covid-19 positive people were dis-charged during the same period, following recovery.
On the other hand, there is no report of Covid related death during the last 24 hours which implies that the death toll remains unchanged at 2000.According to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 13 were confirmed positive at JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (10), and the State logged daily positivity rate of 1.2 per cent.
The newly infected persons are residents of Imphal East (6), Imphal West (6) and Kakching (1) .
Imphal East recorded the highest daily positivity rate at 2.8 per cent followed by Kakching 2.4 per cent and Imphal West 1.7 per cent.
Meanwhile, following recovery, 17 persons were discharged from home isolation (2), RIMS (1), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (8).The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,706 (general population 1,21,272 and Central security personnel 4,434) .
This figure includes 182 active cases (general population 181 and Central security personnel 1) and 1,23,524 recovered cases (general population 1,19,096 and Central security personnel 4,428) .
The recovery rate as on Saturday is 98.26 per cent.
A total of 317 D-type oxygen cylinders and 117 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Friday.
Taking into account 4,369 doses administered yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has risen to 22,94,136 (first dose 13,18,739 and second dose 9,75,397) .
Till December 24, 56.33 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been vaccinated with the first dose of Covid vaccine while 41.67 per cent has been given both the doses.
