Academic Council hold another meeting; fails to take a decision

Taking the prevailing issue at Manipur University in the aftermath of the Academic Council's resolution of October 8 regarding reservation of seats in the Manipur University, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi had reportedly intervene the issue by directing the University authority to revoke the resolution adopted on the day.
A high level source said that the Chief Minister had taken the matter seriously as the tribal students' body had threaten to called total shut down in Hill district if the resolution adopted on the day has not been revoke within four days starting yesterday.
On the other hand the departure of Tribal students from Manipur University complex has make worried to the Chief Minister as it has the tendency to break down the prevailing law and order condition of the state.
Even though the Manipur University is not in the purview of the State Government, as the crisis arises out of the University has the tendency to break down the law and order condition of the state, the Chief Minister's directives is somewhat serious and is taken seriously by the University authority.
The members of the Academic Council were seem to put in the middle of the devil and deep blue sea and the meeting convened today failed to arrived at any amicable situation.
Meanwhile, large number of Tribal students staged protest demonstration in front of the main gate of the Manipur University.
