KSO, Moreh seizes expired food items

Following a complaint against selling to expired food items at Moreh Hill Town, Kuki Students' Organisation inspect the shop wherein expired date of Everyday milk powder was found tempered, said a statement issued by the information and publicity secretary of KSO, Moreh.
The shop is owned by one Haridash Banik who is also a member of Border Trade Chamber of Commerce.
Volunteers of KSO, Moreh also found other expired food items in his shop.
The products were burned before the public and mediapersons.
Haridash Banik's trade licence was also seized and the shop has been shut down indefinitely, the statement said.
KSO, Moreh vehemently condemns such act and will take up necessary steps against selling of expired food products.
Shopkeepers and traders in and around Moreh should refrain from such malpractice, it said in a statement.
