One succumbs, TPR drops to 9.3 pc

Even as one more individual succumbed to the Covid-19 pandemic during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 2075, the State's daily positivity rate has declined to 9.3 per cent.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the victim belonging to Imphal West had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.
On the other hand, 172 people (out of 1858 tested) including two CAPF personnel were confirmed Covid-19 positive at RIMS (26), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (136) .
The 170 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (44), Imphal West (48), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (13), Kamjong (2), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (9), Tengnoupal (3), Ukhrul (7), Noney (2), Senapati (3), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (20) .
Following recovery, 222 people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (178), RIMS (12), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (27), according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Further, 1107 persons have been reported as discharged cases only today.
Therefore, the total number of recovered cases is considered as 1329 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, home isolation team, community home isolation and hospitalisation team, it said.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has grown to 1,35,530 (general population 1,30,537 and Central security personnel 4,993) .
It includes 2397 active cases (general population 2287 and Central security personnel 110) and 1,31,058 recovered cases (general population 1,26,182 and Central security personnel 4,876) .
The recovery rate as on Thursday is 96.70 per cent.
A total of 257 D-type oxygen cylinders and 94 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
At present, 59 (out of 300) Covid beds of JNIMS and another 59 (out of 190) of RIMS are occupied.
Taking into account 8973 doses jabbed yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 26,05,772 (first dose 14,73,908, second dose 10,86,427 and precautionary dose 45,437) .
Till Wednesday, 46.41 per cent of the State's total eligible population has received both the first and second dose of Covid vaccine while 59.92 per cent has been given the first dose.
