New cases dip below 700 at 699 after 4 days
Daily deaths in double digit continue with 12 more

Imphal, August 07 2021:
After four days on the trot of returning 700 plus daily new cases, Manipur today recorded 699 new cases in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,03,588 including 4,054 Central security personnel.
The 699 new cases, including one Central security personnel, were detected while testing a total of 4941 samples to return a daily positivity rate of 14.1 percent.
Manipur continued to notch up daily deaths report in the double digit with another 12 persons falling prey to the virus in the last 24 hours to take the total number of deaths to 1640 .
Out of the 12 deaths, 9 had co-morbidities while 4 had received the first dose of the vaccine.
The 12 deceased persons are from Imphal West (4), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
A total of 699 people including one Central security personnel tested positive during the last 24 hours.
Of the 698 civilians, women accounted for 358 and all the 699 cases were detected at RIMS (31), JNIMS (44), District Hospitals (408) and other testing centres (216) .
The 698 positive cases from amongst the civilians are from Imphal East (139), Imphal West (316), Thoubal (36), Bishnupur (79), Kakching (19), Ukhrul (20), Churachandpur (48), Chandel (6), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (11), Tengnoupal (2), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (2) and Kangpokpi (11) .
As usual the COVID-19 Common Control Room claimed that all necessary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place.
On the other hand 908 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours including from home isolation (362), RIMS (11), JNIMS (14), CCCs (251) and CHICs (270).The total number of recovered cases is 93,802 including 3960 from amongst the Central security personnel and the recovery rate has improved to 90.55 percent.
The number of active cases now stand at 8,146 including 89 Central security personnel.
On August 6, a total of 11,663 people received their vaccination shots taking the total to 13,80,186 .
Out of the total 2,400,56 have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours, 1517 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 347 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
The number of Covid beds available at different health centres as on August 7, 2021 are Iland Hospital (General beds-13), MSF, Little Flower School (Nil), CMC, Koirengei (General beds-30, ICU beds-5), Iboyaima Hospital (General beds-20), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-14, ICU beds-7), Shija Hospital (General beds-10, ICU beds-8), Raj Medicity (General beds-33, ICU beds-8), RIMS (General beds-47, ICU beds-23) .
