NE People pledge to fight together for a common cause

Highlighting the need to fight united for the common problems faced by the North East people, Convenor of Manipur Peoples Against Citizenship Amendment Bill (MANPAC) said that the north East region were having homogeneous nature of problems and issues.
Speaking in a North East People Conference 2019 as a presidium member which was jointly organized by CSOs of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura and hoisted by MANPAC held today at City Convention Centre Yumnamcha Dilip said that the step motherly and discriminatory treatment of the dominant Government of India towards the people of the states of NE was the root causes of all the problems whether political, economic, socio and cultural.
He said that the though the NE states have Geographical contiguity in between the states he added that they still faced communication problem among various states and communities even though most of the communities belong to the same stock.
He further said that they could not work together or fight together for a specific common cause against the Government of India.
Yumnamcha Dilip further highlights the basic human rights violations on the NE people by Armed Forces Special Power Act 1958 .
He said that the people of North east have been struggling against the imposition of AFSPA in the name of Counter Insurgency Operation and added that only demand was to repeal it.
He also said that another important issue faced commonly by the NE states is the Foreigners issue and the influx of illegal immigrants in the North East states.
He added that only three states of North East namely Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh were having some protection against the influx.
He stressed that many of CSOs of the state are still struggling against illegal migrants into the state under the banner of the JCILPS.
Pointing on the recent controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill, Dilip said that the tabling of contentious CAB by Government of India has triggered directly to the existence of the indigenous population of the North East.
He also said that even though the bill failed to place for discussion in the Upper House because of the strong opposition of the North East.
He further stressed that they have won the battle but the war is still not over as shown by the utterance of National President of BJP Amit Shah at North Lakhimpur.
He concluded that all the policy of Government of India neglected the aspiration and Social-economic, cultural and historical aspiration of the region.
Finally Dilip appealed to all the people of North East to be together and unite the voice to keep a close vigil to all the policy of Government of India which has direct negative implication to the existence and way of life of North East.
General Secretary of COMSO Roy Kupar said that the recent contentious CAB was a blessing in disguised for the North East region as the bill brought all the North Easterners together and fight united.
He further said that sparking a revolution is very easy but to sustain the revolution is a task that requires lot of strategies.
He requested to have a short term, middle term and long term plans and strategy.
He appealed the North East people need to fight under one umbrella and to protect each other and to support any of the state if any harm was done.
Speaking as the presidium member General Secretary of NEIMPCO Pohor Twiprasa said that the indigenous people of Tripura were afraid even to able to speak out.
He highlighted the various problems faced by the indigenous people of Tripura were all their identity, culture, land and rights were all lost.
He stressed that the lack of administrative power leads to the various issues as they all make the policy.
The NE people convention was attended by President of TPF Pajal Koina, Advisor to JCPII Theja Their, Chairman of COMSO Robert June Kharjahrin, Social activist from Mizoram Pu Ruatliana, President of AADSU and Convenor of NIPP Wangkhem Sarat as the presidium members.
The convention was attended by 61 delegates from other states.
