CYCLONE emerge champions of 2nd MCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

Mayank Raghav's 40 runs (41 balls), 25 runs (23 balls) quick fire from Narsingh and unbeaten 28 from Akshaykumar guided CYCLONE, Thangmeiband to a comfortable 7 wickets victory over Model Club, Chingamakha in the final of the 2nd MCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2018 organized under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium today.
The final match was graced by Bhaktaraj (MCS), retd Director, YAS; Chongtham Chaoba, retd Additional Director, Horticulture and Soil Conservation; Nongthongbam Indrajit, president Manipur Veteran Cricket Association; Leisangtham Birchandra, president Young Welfare Club, Langthabal; Thokchom Ibomcha, president Langthabal Sporting Club, Langthabal as dignitaries and distributed away the prizes to the winners.
The champion CYCLONE, Thangmeiban received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with the rolling trophy while the runners up team Model Club, Chingamakha took away a cash prize of Rs 30,000 with the rolling trophy.
Both Akshaykumar of CYCLONE, Thangmeiband and Saroj of TRAU Kwakeithel were declared as the highest wicket takers of the tournament each claiming 14 wickets each and were honoured cash prize of Rs 2000 and trophy sponsored by Bobin Singh in the name of his late father Konthoujam Tombingou while highest run getter award went to Rohit of TRAU Kwakeithel for scoring a total of 122 runs in the tournament and received a cash prize of Rs 2000 with trophy.
Akshaykumar of CYCLONE Thangmeiband was declared man of the series for stellar performance in the tournament which include 4 (four) man of the match award, 14 wickets and 77 runs in total.
He was honoured with a cash prize of Rs 2000 with trophy.
Mayank Raghav of CYCLONE Thangmeiband was adjudged man of the final match for scoring 40 runs of 41 balls in the final and received a cash prize of Rs 2000 sponsored by SI Babu with trophy.
In today's final match, electing to bowl first after winning the toss, CYCLONE restricted Model Club to a modest 108 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
For Model Club, Karnajit and Antrik smashed around the ground and scored 17 and 33 runs respectively while Tejkumar added 11 runs.
Bikash took two wickets for CYCLONE while Homendro and Kishan dismissed one wicket each.
In reply, CYCLONE easily chased the target in 17.2 overs with the fall of only 3 wickets.
For Model Club, Bishorjit dismissed two wickets.
