200 plus spike in 24 Hrs continues, one more dies

The State recorded another COVID-19 fatality today taking the total number of death toll to 67 .
However, official records have not yet taken into account the two deaths reported from Churachandpur a few days back and put the death toll at 65 .
A 51 year old man from Imphal East district died at JNIMS at around 11.30 am today.
Apart from being COVID-19 positive, the man was also suffering from hypertension, diabetes and lungs problems.
He was admitted to the hospital at around 11.30 pm yesterday.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 269 people including 38 personnel of CAPF were tested positive during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Kamjong, Noney, Kakching, Swiss Hospital, Jiribam, Imphal West, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Mothers Care, Senapati, Churachandpur, RD Wing, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal, Thoubal, Ukhrul, Chandel, Babina Diagnostics, Samaritan Hospital, Hillside Hospital, CMC and Imphal Hospital.
Of the 231 civilians who have been tested positive, 53 belong to Imphal West, 44 to Imphal East, nine to Tengnoupal, one to Ukhrul, 40 to Tamenglong, two to Kangpokpi, seven to Kamjong, 15 to Noney, two to Kakching, four to Jiribam, two to Bishnupur, one to Senapati, two to Churachandpur and 49 to Thoubal.
Out of them, 227 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
In the meantime, 57 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from RIMS (4), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (36), Kakching (6), Ukhrul (3) and JNIMS (8) during the last 24 hours after they were found free of the virus.
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has climbed to 10,746 (general population 8478, Central security personnel 2268) .
It includes 2642 active cases (general population 2122, Central security personnel 520) and 8039 discharged cases (general population 6294, Central security personnel 1745) .
The recovery rate as of Tuesday is 74.80 per cent.
A late report informed that out of 517 samples tested today at JNIMS, 58 were found positive.
Rapid antigen test at Thoubal found 13 people infected by the contagion today.
