Licypriya urges everyone to plant a tree on 2nd October on her birthday

World renowned child environmental & climate activist from Manipur Licypriya Kangujam has urged everyone to plant a tree on October 2 on her 9th year's birth anniversary to create a better greener planet for their future.
Her birthday will be celebrated across the globe in over 100 countries by planting lakhs of trees on this day, said a release of Team Licypriya.
The theme of her birthday celebration this year is "Let's make our environment green again" .
The day is also the birth anniversary of our father of the Nation - Mahatma Gandhi.
Such initiative will help to control the carbon emissions and other greenhouse gases and also planting trees is the ultimate solution to fight the present global climate crisis, the release said.
She said, "On 2nd October, I would like to appeal to all sections of the people of various communities of my birth state Manipur to plant a tree in their homes on this day to take their share equal responsibility to save our planet and our future.
Such efforts will help to make our environment green again" .
"I would like to appeal to all the local clubs and organizations of various communities of Manipur, environment & forest departments of all districts, civil society leaders, students body, senior citizens and women's leaders as well as political leaders and organizations to take this initiative to make our Manipur neat, clean and green state again.
I would like to urge everyone to take the responsibility of saving our environment", she added.
Initially she had planned to plant just 1000 trees on her birthday but after she posted this information in her twitter and facebook, hundreds of people came out to support the cause from various countries of the world.
Now more than one lakhs trees will be planting in over 100 countries of the World on this day, the release further said.
The day also will be celebrated in various schools, colleges and universities of India by planting trees by thousands of students, staff and faculties.
GEMS School of Dubai wrote letter to Licypriya that they will plant 15,000 trees on this day, it said.
She also will launch the first international weekly independent newspaper published by only children of the world called "The Small Voice" on this day.
She is also appointed as the editor of this initiative.
This new platform will be used to cover the voice of the voiceless children from around the World on various social issues like education, environment and health, it said.
The Small Voice will also provide latest unbreaking news in their various social media platforms.
There are a total of 20 staff including one editor, 10 sub editors and 10 reporters from 10 countries viz Syria, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India and Afghanistan.
All the children are aged between 7 - 16 years only, it said.
And also she will play an important role in fighting the delhi air pollution and cleaning of one of the most polluted rivers of India - Yamuna in collaboration with the Government and Civil Society organizations.
A Bollywood Biopic film based on her life story may be announced on this day in Mumbai, it added.
