The Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) has decided to go on strike from tomorrow in support of their demand.
The decision to launch the strike was taken during a general body meeting of the association held today at the Secretariat South Block conference hall.
The decision was intimated to the Governor and the two advisors of the governor.
The demands of the association include withdrawal of the Government decision to cut six months special pay, non-practicing allowance and House Rent Allowance to reduce the number of leave encashment day from 300 to 240 and the ban on medical reimbursement among others.
The association said if the demands are not fulfilled the members will wear back badge for two days from tomorrow.
It has also decided to take mass casual leave on June 14 and 15 in the second phase of the strike.
If no positive response come by then they will launch an indefinite cease-work strike with effect from June 16.Meanwhile the finance Department today said its order dated June 7 should mention that �arrears of pay allowed shall include HRA/SCA.� Meanwhile the ongoing cease-work strike by JAC of the Government employees has been intensified today with no treasury bill passed, a statement issued by the JAC said adding that employees also did not withdraw their salaries.
The JAC also appealed to departments to withdraw their bills if they have been already submitted to the treasury and said bills should not be prepared without HRA and TA.
Appealing to all for cooperation the JAC asked the employees in active and essential services to join the strike to protect the interest of the employees.
A source in the Treasury office confirmed that no pay bill was passed by the Treasury today.
However, Bills for about 2000 pensioner had been passed, he said.
In the meantime the All Manipur Adhoc Teachers� Association (AMATA) has submitted an ultimatum to the Governor to extend their service and release pay for the last 15 months by June 22, failing which they will take recourse to strike.
In a representation the association said the High Court had directed the government to continue services of the adhoc teachers till the vacancies were filled up.
However, the Government had failed to comply with the court order and refused to extend services and pay salaries forfeiting the teachers� livelihood, the representation said.
