Security forces organise Civic Action Programme at various places

Imphal, March 18 2023: In a bid to connect with the marginalized section of the society, CRPF, BSF and Assam Rifles conducted Civic Action Programmes at different locations of the State.

CRPF
As part of the Civic Action Programme, 143 Battalion CRPF distributed water storage tanks to the people of Gamnom Sapermeina in Kangpokpi district on March 18 .

The programme was attended by L Lhoujem, Commandant 143 Bn CRPF; K Sonny Singh, Second-In-Command; O Riza Chanu, Assistant Commandant, 143 Bn CRPF; N Champhai, Sapermeina village chairman Henkhomanj Tuboi; and M Jamnomphai, Motbung chairman Henkhomang Haokip among others, said a release issued by CRPF.

At the event, L Lhoujem expressed his joy on getting the opportunity to fulfill the long standing need of the villagers and assured that the Unit will continue to serve the people by carrying out such humanitarian activities.

L Lhoujem conveyed that under the Civic Action Programme, CRPF has been trying to address the needs and requirements of the locals.

Similarly, 69 Bn CRPF also imparted training and provided handloom material to needy women of Langthabal Mantrikhong Thongahanbi village.

The programme was attended by P K Nayak, DIGP (Ops/Int & Trg) M&N Sector; Bajrang Lal, Commandant 69 Bn; Paheem Ahmed, National Minority Morcha in-charge, J&K; .

Haorangbam Ravikant Meitei, Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee.

The training was conducted under the guidance of Bajrang Lal and P Ibemhal Devi, chairman of Mangang Salai Modern Handloom & Handicraft cum Multi Industrial Co-operative Society Limited.

BSF
As part of the Civic Action Programme, 10 Bn BSF carried out welfare activities at CI Post Turbung Bunglow on March 18 .

The programme was attended by Umesh Kumar Nayal, IG BSF Ftr HQ M&C; Kulwant Kumar, Commandant; Kuldip Raju, 2I/C; chiefs/secretaries of Torbung, Monglenphai, S Kawatlian, Kaprang and T Munjang; staff of Government Hr Sec School Kangvai and Indian National Army Memorial Govt High School, Ukhatampak, Churachandpur and members of woman societies, said a statement of BSF.

During the programme, water storage tanks, sewing machines, PVC water pipes, solar lights, incinerator machines, white boards and dustbins were distributed to the villagers and students.

ASSAM RIFLES
As a part of Civic Action Programme, Mantripukhri Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) provided sports items including volleyball, football, shoes, badminton rackets, shuttlecock and other indoor sports equipment to Ngarumphung, New Cannan, Urangpat and Twichin villages of Kangpokpi district on March 17 .
