Lainingthou Sanamahi Sanapung celebrates Ningol Chakouba

Imphal, November 29 2015: Lainingthou Sanamahi Sanapung on Sunday celebrated Ningol Chakouba at Leimayon Arts Centre, Chingamakha.

Number of women from different parts of the State participated at the celebration.

Attending the function as Chief Guest, titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba called both the hills and valley people of the State to be united.

He remarked that few sections of people have been continuously trying to delink themselves from Manipur but they will be helpless if an incident like seven years devastation recurs in Manipur.

Leishemba Sanajaoba mentioned that celebration of ningol chakouba and piba chakouba have been observed in Manipur since the reign of Nongda Lairen Pakhangba.

The occasion which is also supposed to promote the bond of love between sisters and brothers has become meaningless due to the competition on presenting luxury gifts and presents, lamented Sanajaoba adding that people seem to have forgotten the importance of Hiyangei month in the State's history.

The celebration was attended by Lainingthou Sanamahi Sanapung Working President Moirangthem Meghachandra Mangang as President.

Khwailakpa of the Sanapung Thokchom Ibungo, Thangsuhanba Y Babu Mangang and Angamba Disable People Organisation President Kripachandra Pheiroijam were the Guests of Honour.
