The paintings of Rabin Bar, hailing from Guwahati, Assam enchanted the people of Manipur on the concluding day of the 3-day SACH Festival of Arts and Crafts 2010, Khongman zone-3, Imphal.
SACH Festival of Arts and Crafts 2010 concluded on Friday.
Rabin Bar thrilled the people who had visited the fair with his paintings.
The significant feature of the painter was his uique style of painting with both his hands and legs as well.
His portrait took a maximum time-frame of about 3 minutes for large paintings while the small paintings took a maximum of 5-6 seconds.
The people with fallen jaws watched Rabin Bar completed any portrait in few minutes today.
Besides, several works related to arts and crafts were being showcased in the fair.
Traditional paintings, folk painting, clay modeling, Andro pottery, phiribi, Shamee Lanmee, chung pe, rug doll, Laiphadibi, Kouna water reed mat were being showcased in the fair.
While speaking to the media persons, Bijoy Koijam, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) presided as the president of the function infused encouragement to the artists and stated to preserve the ,tradition, art and culture.
While maintaining that there is no substitute to hard work, he also stated that even Manipur can have a painter like Rabin Bar.
TN Haokip, tourism minister while appreciating the talent of Rabin Bar stated that he was thrilled with the paintings of Rabin Bar.
He added that the art and culture of the state should be preserved.
Dignitaries like T.N Haokip, tourism minster, Bijoy Koijam (MLA), Poujaring Thaimei, national awardee graced the occasion as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
