A team of seven Nepalese officials led by Deputy Director General of the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operative, Department of Livestock Services are staying at Imphal to learn from the expertise of the State Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department on controlling and containing avian flu.
Talking to media persons this evening at State Veterinary Council, the team who arrived at Imphal on May 13 remarked that the State's ability to control bird flu within a short time of its outbreak was commendable success.
As Nepal is a neighbour to many countries where bird flu had already broken out, the Nepalese Government sent the team to Manipur with permission from New Delhi to learn about controlling and containing bird flu from the experience and expertise of the State Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department, they said.
The Nepalese officials would be leaving Imphal for Kolkata tomorrow.
