Imphal, March 02: The Judicial Magistrate First Class, Thoubal released M Naobi Chanu without any condition, a day short of the remand period granted by the same Court.

It is reported that Naobi was set free following the failure of police to substantiate the charges levelled against her.

Mention may made here that Naobi was remanded to judicial custody for nine days till tomorrow by the CJM Thoubal after she was picked up by police commandos from the residence of Bikash on February 21 where she had gone to attend the funeral of the slain PLA cadre.

After being released, Naobi narrated her ordeal to the media at the office of the Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup today at about 9 pm.

"After the funeral of Bikash I was taking rest along with two younger sisters of Bikash, when the police commandos came.

All of us were called out and made to stand in the court yard.

"After a while the police commandos inquired about me and later took me to the side of a pond.

There I was beaten up.

Then I was dragged by the hair and dumped onto a Gypsy and driven away.

"The beating continued inside the vehicle and the commandos groped me all over.

They also touched my private parts and disrobed me.

I was bind folded.

"After some time, the vehicle stopped and I was made to come down.

There again I was told to undress and fearing for my life I did as they said.

I was made to lie on the ground and then to stand up again.

The Commandos also used derogatory words and abused me.

"After some time I was made to lie down in the Gypsy with my posterior outside.

They did many things again.

They violated by private parts again and again and molested me.

"Whenever I passed out, water was splashed on me.

At that time I heard a vehicle coming and shouted for help but the Commandos muffled my voice and started beating me again." When asked if she was raped, Naobi answered, "I was half conscious most of the time but whenever I regained consciousness, the Commandos were molesting me with some atop." "At abut 7 pm I was taken to the Commando barracks and was told to change my clothes in full view of all the men.

However the light was switched off.
