AKSDO, YUCC, RCA off to good starts in 5th MNCA U-16 Boys NRS Memorial Trophy

AKSDO (Khangabok), YUCC (Kwakeithel Moirangpurel) and RCA (Lilong) all made a resounding win as the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 got underway on Thursday.
AKSDO started strongly, defeating PTRC (Patsoi Part IV) by 5 wickets at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
The Khangabok team bowled out their opponents in just 17.5 overs and successfully chased down the target with five wickets in hand.
Saikhom Lanchenba Meitei starred with the ball for AKSDO, taking 4 wickets, supported by Bidyananda Ningthoujam and Shailesh Khundrakpam who picked up 2 wickets each, while Saikhom Dinesh contributed with one.
PTRC struggled with Ngambarel Naoshekpam (19) being the only batsman to reach double figures.
In their innings, AKSDO faced initial setbacks but were guided to victory by Saikhom Lanchenba Meitei (11 not out) and Paikhomba Laishram (1 not out) .
PTRC's Laitonjam Jackson Singh claimed 3 wickets in their defeat.
YUCC defeated MPA by 4 wickets at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
YUCC restricted MPA to 136/10 in 32 overs, with Bonny Thokchom and Shresth Oinam taking 2 wickets each.
In reply, YUCC chased down the target in 31.2 overs, led by contributions from M Ricky (32), M Amitkiyon (28), Ningthoujam Kenedy Singh (24 not out), and N Reshan (14) .
Chongtham Sitaranjan Singh took 3 wickets for MPA.
At Khudeiband Lampak (Taothong), RCA secured a 54-run victory over YWC.
RCA posted 203/8 in 35 overs batting first, with Nawaz Sarif (35) top-scoring.
RCA then bowled out YWC for 149 in 33.3 overs, with Md Safwan Ahamed taking 4 wickets and Zuned picking up 3 wickets.
For YWC, Sorokhaibam Thoungamba Singh (33) was the highest scorer.
