Imphal, May 02 2024: Youngstars FC, Iconic Five, Lambung YCC and Football Lovers advanced to the pre-quarter finals of the ongoing 1st Thoruwl Trophy Futsal Tournament 2024 at Thoruwl Turf.

Youngstars FC made it to the Pool A last 16 stage of the tournament with a 7-5 win over Surchand FC .

Omega (3', 24') and Yaomaya (15', 35') scored two goals apiece for Youngstars FC as Kankhungam (10'), Aprilngam (23') and Khallenthang (36') scored a goal apiece.

Meanwhile, Ngachonmi (27', 29', 32') netted thrice for Surchand FC and Goodphangam (30') and Chiniiso (40') scored one goal each.

In another Pool A match, Iconic Five outlasted Anal Engineers FC by 24-3 goals to progress into the last 16 round.

Iconic Five's Bedeenpar shone with an impressive haul of 21 goals in this one sided encounter as his teammates- Rungden (8', 35') and Ringshangam (15') contributed three goals.

In the third Pool A match of the day, Football Lovers rode on trebles from Lian (2', 13', 17'), Alex (7', 10', 16') and Lael (31', 34, 36') to romp to a 14-5 win over Additional FC and sealed their place in the pre-quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Lambung YCC defeated SBI Chandel by 12-7 goals to progress into pre-quarters from Pool B.KL Mojanghring (18', 22', 30', 32', 39') starred with five goals for the winning side as Lh Phowlpe (23', 39') and HL Phanthungam (25', 35') scored two goals apiece.

Earlier in a Group B match, Wanderers outlasted Brothers by 20-5 goals to advance to the second round.

Winkle ran riot to add 13 goals alone and Kenedy and Armstrong added two goals apiece in this lopsided encounter.
