KCDO thrashed YWC by 101 runs while PSC notched up a 25-run win over SSU in Sunday's fixtures of the 8th MNCA Plate Tournament 2023-23.KCDO put up a collective effort with the bat and ball for their massive victory against YWC in their encounter at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Electing to bat, KCDO were all out for 238 in 40 overs.
Their total was built on knocks by Umar (52), Natajit (45 not out), Devendro (26), Rosebell (22) and Abdul (21) .
In reply, YWC failed to cope with a disciplined bowling attack by KCDO and ended up being bowled out for 137 in 31.1 overs.
In the chase, Jagat (26), Johnson (22), Thoungamba (21) and Shital (18) were the batters got into double figures for their side.
For KCDO, Abdul Kayom and Devendro equally shared six wickets between them as Ziaur did his bit with two scalps and Lucky bagged one wicket in their comprehensive win.
Earlier, Johnson and Sunanta picked up 3 wickets each while Yaiphaba and Mangalsana claimed 2 each for YWC.
PSC, meanwhile, defeated SSU by 25 runs in a low-scoring match at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Asked to bat first, PSC had a torrid innings, finding themselves reduced to 108 after their batting order collapsed in 23 overs.
Thokchom (23), Chandreshwar (19), Kenny Singh (15) and Homenjit (13) were the only batters who could score in double digits in their innings.
Despite their dismal innings, PSC successfully defended their total after bowling out SSU for 83 in 22.2 overs, thanks to their bowlers.
Kenny led the scalping with an impressive haul of 4 wickets as Prasantajit and Gautam took 2 wickets apiece, with Martin bagging one.
In their chase, Rupachandra scored a fighting 38 in vain.
