Chalou Cup LSIC blank EUC, SWA edge past YSC

Imphal, February 16 2014: LSIC Lamlai blanked EUC Kameng Khunjao by a margin of 11 goals to 2 while SWA Sekta edgedpast YSC Yourbung by an odd goal in three in the Chalou Cup today.

In the first match of the day, LSIC Lamlai shot into the lead as early as the 6th minute of the past, when Th Oken found the target with ease.

Th Oken was at it again in the 7th minute when he was bang on target.

Th Boina of EUC pulled one back in the 13th minute, but that only galvanised the LSIC players to put more purpose into their game.

The goal spree continued with Th Sunil finding the net in the 16th and 30th minute with Th Shanta of EUC pulling one back in the 36th minute.

M Aboy of LSIC then rose to the occasion to pump in three goals in quick succession in the 37th, 42nd and 49th minute of the match to literally take the match away from EUC.

So dominating were LSIC that their players were all over the field and play was confined near the goal mouth of EUC for the better part of the match.

Toying with the ball and making repeated inroads into the territory of EUC, M Kabiraj added two more goals in the 41st and 50th minute of the match.

L Premananda and T Sandymoon scored in the 52nd and 19th minute respectively to complete the rout.

SWA Sekta edge past YSC, Yourbung Khunou : In the second match of the day, SWA Sekta came back from one goal down to over come YSC, Yourbung Khunou by a margin of 2-1 .

With both teams evenly matched, fortunes swung to and fro and it was YSC which went into the lead when an unmarked M Luckyson found himself well positioned to bang home the ball in the 28th minute.

Stung by the goal, the team from Sekta went on the offensive and repeatedly raided the citadel of YSC.

Their relentless efforts proved fruitful when W Inaobi netted the ball in the 41st minute followed by Y Chitrasen in the 44th minute to seal the match.
