Private Schools Sports (Football): HIMPS, FPA move to semi

Hijam Irabot Memorial Public School, Lanjing Athouba and Free Progressive Academy, Konthoujam made it to the semifinals after wining their high scoring quarterfinal matches in the 1st All Manipur Recognized Private School's Sport's Meet organized by All Manipur Recognized Private School's Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) at Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy Ground, Taonungkhok on Tuesday.
The quarterfinal matches played today entertained the capacity crowd with flurry of goals.
Hijam Irabot Memorial Public School (HIMPS), Lanjing Athouba hammered ST Patrick English School, Thangmeiband 7-1 while Free Progressive Academy (FPA), Konthoujam marched over Suranjoy English Academy (SEA), Mekola Bazar in 5-3 .
HIMPS made their intentions clear from the first minute of the match through flurry of attack.
ST Patrick defenders did not wilt for the initial 10 minutes.
Ruptures started appearing in the defense then HIMPS made a hole out of the ruptures.
Patrick conceded goal in 13th min of Th Nilakanta's strike.
Five minutes later Monish added another one (18th min).
Petersent came to the party in 23rd min.
Helpless Patrick's defenders were made to look for cover when Netrajit shake the back of Patrick's net in 32nd min.
Nilankanta scored his 2nd goal of the match in 35th min while Hilton completed the formalities in 38th and 50th min of the match.
After conceding 7 goals, Wuraj scored the face saving goal for ST Patrick in 54th min.
Hijam Irabot Memorial Public School advance into the semifinals with the win.
In the other quarterfinal match, Free Progressive Academy overcame Suranjoy English Academy through penalty shoot out.
At the end of the regulation time, Free Progressive Academy and Suranjoy English Academy were locked in 1-1.Tomba scored the first goal of the match for Free Progressive in 46th min which was equaled by Yaiphaba in 55th min for Suranjoy English Academy.
In the shoot out, Ranju; Anilkumar; Sushanta and Tomba successfully scored for Free Progressive Academy while Avinash and Abinath could convert the spot kicks into goals for Suranjoy English Academy.
The result force Suranjoy English Academy out of the competition while Free Progressive Academy continues their journey.
