The low floor bus under JNURM project is not being into used as no firm applied for tender despite repeated advertisements.
Criteria were also changed to draw the attention of private firms but unluckily non firm has applied for running the low floor buses.
The tenders were called as instruction to hand over the buses to a private firm is mandatory.
The low floor bus is being used during Sangai Festival, or whenever there is any major tournament at the national level.
The reason is not known as to why private firms did not apply, said the Minister.
The low floor bus finds difficulty at the turnings due to its length at the road crossings in Manipur which could be one factor for incumbency.
He also expressed that in Manipur the number of three wheeler autos is increasing and even the private buses are reluctant to ply for business nowadays.
