Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram has wooed voters of Ukhrul with the BJP's policies of bringing better governance and giving full autonomy to local Government to ensure direct transfer of fund from the Centre and smooth implementation of projects in the hill districts.
Addressing a public meeting here, Jual Oram said that the Congress party has been misleading the innocent public particularly the minority groups by accusing the BJP as being anti-Christian and sectarian.
He said that under the NDA regime at the Centre, many modernisation projects have been taken up and many developmental projects have been expanded across the country.
Asserting that the Central Govt is ready to provide fund for tribal development in the State, Jual Oram urged the people to uproot the incumbent corrupt and unjust Congress Govt.He also appealed to the voters to give the BJP a chance to form the ADC so that the funds meant for the tribal reach the intended destiny.

As long as the Congress remains in power, development funds will continue to land at the hands and closets of a few Congressmen, he said.
Even if the Centre provides special packages to the hill districts of the State, the same is unlikely to be implemented as intended, Oram said.
"Give BJP a chance to form the ADCs and see the changes," he said while adding that the BJP is one such party which has applied the system of checks and balances strictly.
He also said that during the Congress led UPA reign at the Centre there was no Tribal Affairs Ministry.
A separate Tribal Affairs Ministry came into being under the NDA Government.

Gao said that the elected BJP members can also be facilitators to the Naga peace process.
Pointing out that threats and intimidations will not bring any solution, the BJP leader said stern action will be taken against any subversive attempts.
